Jeff is a photographer, filmmaker, National Geographic Educator and Photo Instructor with a deep background in natural history and visual storytelling. Since 2009, he has worked extensively as a guide, photography instructor, trip leader, and undersea specialist, leading guests into some of the most remote and spectacular wilderness regions on Earth.

His imagery and film work have been featured on the National Geographic Channel, National Geographic magazine, TED, and in numerous documentary films. Jeff has collaborated with organizations including National Geographic Expeditions, The Nature Conservancy, Sea Shepherd, iLCP, and the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary—often serving as a visual specialist and educator in the field.

A graduate of the Brooks Institute of Photography, Jeff teaches photography, filmmaking, and aerial cinematography, with a focus on helping students deepen their technical skill, creative vision, and storytelling approach. Whether guiding guests on expedition ships, leading workshops, or mentoring new photographers one-on-one, he is known for making complex concepts accessible, empowering students to create meaningful images in any environment.

Originally from rural California, Jeff brings a lifelong passion for wild places into his teaching, grounding every lesson in curiosity, observation, and a patient, supportive approach to learning.
